Hi! My name is Dianne and I just found this site through our church web site. I am not sure who is here or what I can expect but it sounds like somewhere I would like to be~ I definitely need some Christian support. I have been in therapy for 17 years now~ unbelievable! The last hurdle I am really struggling with is my absense from Church's. I did not say, that I have lost my faith~ God has proven his love for me over and over when I give in and stop worrying about my life and trust him to care for me. He always takes care of me~ and that has been what has kept me going most of the time. I want to return to a church and become involved but it really makes me feel scared, incapable, alone, different. I feel like I am with god always until I go to church and then it feels superficial and I don't want to feel like that. I feel like others are wonderful in their commitments but I have very little to give so I feel awkward..It is expensive now to belong to a church and participate with others in activities- It is expensive to give when you don't have enough money to get to the end of the month anyway. I feel like I am not contributing like the others. I know that I need to talk with the pastor~ I joined this church because my daughter and my grandchildren go to this church. It is very big and my church at home, I came here from Wisconsin 4 years ago, was very small and comforting and I knew everyone and we were like a family. This new Church is all about small groups within a huge church. I don't fit here. But, small Church's here are really needy for funds because everyone is leaving for the big Church's as they have more programs~ And, I can't help much to contribute money to them to help. I know I can volunteer to help with other things and that is great but I also have a lot of health problems now and have to do all things in moderation. I am not dependable because I never know when I will be unable to work. Anyway, I feel very lost but at the same time, I want to belong somewhere that I can feel I belong. So much has been lost to me~ everything becomes difficult. I don't mean to sound sad~ I am happy today! And happy to be here. I hope you will let me stay. dm

Thoughts on Christian Survivors : bible verse memory got me through

It takes years to recover from abuse. I got depressed and ended overdosed on psychiatric drugs. The system did not help with the abuser or health at all. What got me through is my bible verse memory, support of a prayer group, and my music playing. I'll check your site out.

I am a survivor of physical, emotional, sexual and spiritual abuse. I have a great deal of difficulty trusting people. This website may be the start of my being able to tell my story without fear of being judged. Thank you for caring about people like us.

I just read the Article on being DID. I have been diagnosed for a month, have an amazing counsellor and supportive friend who doesn't think I am crazy but it was so good to read someone elses ideas, thoughts and feelings.

Hi, I thought I would send a note. I struggled with a comment in a Christian ministry and it sent me looking on the internet.... I e-mailed my concern to one of the staff -- within minutes I received a wise, warm, and helpful response. The "signatures" on the forums are lovely - what a nice idea. I am part of a recovery ministry, with a long healing journey of my own  and am glad to have met your site!

I am new to this site. I was abused physically, mentally and emotionally as a child. I am 45 and I am just dealing with this. I am overwhelmed with grief, anger, bitterness, resentment and pain right now. But God! I am looking forward to being set free! Please pray for me as I take this painful journey to freedom. I was diagnosis with DID three weeks ago. I have been so confused, scared and sad. I have a great therapist but there just wasn't enough time to answer my questions, as my alters were fighting for a chance to talk. as of today ten alters have come out and I know there are more. I need so words of wisdom from others that have traveled this journey ahead of me.
